Services and Philosophy

- Philosophy: Ultimately, Eleanor's philosophy comes down to something very simple: she's not going to do anything that won't let her sleep at night. What this means in practice is that she's generally going to be trying to heal and ease pain. For this reason, there are a few things she just won't touch. She doesn't do curses, and she is very picky about love magic.
- Healing: Any healing done by Eleanor will likely be an odd mix of traditional herbalism and charms based around Christian prayer and folk belief. She knows what plants to use and when, certainly, but there is, without a doubt, a magical and ritual element to this too. This comprises the greatest part of her practice and is what she likes doing best.
- Divinations: This is exactly what it sounds like. Scrying, reading palms, and astrology, are all methods she might employ. This is most often used in conjunction with one of the other services- to find someone or something, for example. While she does have some genuine gift, it should be noted that Eleanor is also not above using her deductive reasoning and conveniently "seeing" the right thing. Sometimes magic falls in your lap. Sometimes you have to make your own.
- Finding People and Objects: This is a less frequent aspect of her practice than healing, but it's still fairly common. Eleanor happens to be quite effective at locating stolen or misplaced objects, usually through divination (or "divination"). Lost people can also be found this way, as well as long lost family heirlooms.
- Anti-Witch Measures: If a person believes he or she is being witched, Eleanor does have the ability to interfere with the curses, identify, and harm the witch responsible. None of these skills involve direct confrontation, which suits Eleanor just fine; there's no possibility of hurting innocents that way. She may be anti-witch, but she's just as much anti-witchhunt. That's part of the reason she prefers people come to her; she can keep things under control.
- Love, Sex, and Relationships: Generally speaking, Eleanor believes that meddling in affairs of the heart can only lead to trouble and, as a rule, she doesn't do it. There may be exceptions, however, based on individual situations, but the matter would have to be discussed at length. She will not do any of the "bind so-and-so to me" type potions. Sex is another subject entirely and, like most traditional healers, she has a number of useful herbs up her sleeve, as well as a promise to be discreet and leave her judgments at the door.
